Just checking, I think the biggest stock tyres used on a Nove were 185/ 60 R14 on the SRi. This gives an overall tyre diameter of 22.74 ". This means to fit 18 " wheels in the standard arches, you'd need something like 185/ 35 R18 tyres, which I'm pretty sure don't exist. I can find 255/ 30 R18s, which would increase your overall wheel diameter by about 6%, and need a lot of bodywork modification due to the increased width & diameter. ps The only tyres I can find at that size are £228 each! |

My car has 19 " wheels and produces 450 BHP. The tyres look about the right width for that diameter and are 235/ 40's on the front 8.5 " rims and 275/ 35's on the back 9.5 " rims. why oh why would you want 18 " wheels on a Nova producing so much less BHP ? It will not increase your top speed, it'll just make the car look over-wheeled. Wheels are scaled to match the cars abilities. All you'll do in introduce lots of chassis stress and end up twisting the body because you will end up with tyres far too wide for the power, chassis and suspension to handle. You'll need to tell your insurance too, fi you don't you effectively become uninsured. me: get lots of Novas / Saxos and Corsa up my backside trying to get me to race...i have no idea why. |

Yes, if you don't mind cutting away a fair chunk of the bodywork! |

Yes you can but I wouldent bother, better getting 15 " - 16 " allies better suspention ( stiffend springs and shock kits) rolling arches and then putting a wider arch kit on would look better. 18 " will look silly. OZ do a set of 5 spoke blades that look nice. Bigger wheels need bigger and wider arches. good look though. |
